The Ashes Championship History (Women’s)
The Ashes is a Test Cricket championship series and the oldest rivalry in cricket played only between Australia and England. Therefore, if one of these countries is the winner, the other one is the only runner-up. Therefore, it is meaningless for me to include a separate column here for the runner-ups. That should be obvious.
The Ashes women’s series began in 1934 and has been played somewhat less regularly than the men’s series ever since. In 2013, the Women’s Ashes switched from a Test-only series to a points system based on One Day International (ODI), Twenty20 (T20), and Test matches. Four points are awarded for a Test victory (two for a drawn game), and two points are awarded for the limited overs versions.
The first table below represents the statistic for the current/new format, while the second table represents that of the older format.

*The Player of the Series award was only introduced in the 2002-03 Ashes. Thus, there are no award recipients in years prior to 2002-03.
**The 2009 Ashes Series was a one-match Test series, which was drawn. Therefore, there was no award recipient in this year.
***The 2007-08 was also a one-match Test series. Thus, the “Player of the Match,” Isa Guha, was effectively the “Player of the Series.”
****Sharon Tredrea was the captain of the Australian team for only the first Test match in the 1984-85 Ashes. Raelee Thompson took over the role of Captain after a devastating injury ruled Tredrea out of the rest of the series.
