Notes

  • In April 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that the ICC Champions Trophy is scrapped in favor of switching to a T20 World Cup. Part of the reason the trophy was scrapped may have been due to pressure from players concerning the toll the heavy cricketing/travel schedule had on players and their families together with the decreasing popularity of the tournament

  • In 2002, weather conditions were very bad during the time of the finals that the match between India and Sri Lanka could not be played. The International Cricket Council (ICC), therefore, awarded the championship that year to both nations.
